Faves Lately

Here are a few of the newest recipes I've tried that have become family faves! My favorite part? - they're easy throw together meals in the crockpot (except the chow mein).

Sweet & Sour Chicken:
1 cup pineapple juice, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1/3 cup light soy sauce, 2 pounds chicken breast tenderloins. Cook on low 6-8 hrs and they should just fall apart. Serve over rice!

Crockpot Lasagna Soup:

Smoky Turkey Chili

Ronni posting on a blog?  It is a miracle that you have all witnessed today.  This turkey chili is so darn good it is sure to change you life.  I highly recommend serving it with Kristin's Buttermilk Cornbread.

1 LB ground skinless turkey
1 large onion, chopped
1 large red pepper, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
3 (15 1/2 ounce) can small white beans, rinsed and drained
1(14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 cup Ketchup
1 can chopped green chilies
3 TBS chili powder
2 TBS honey (spray your tbs with non-stick spray first, it slides out like magic)
1 TBS ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp hickory liquid smoke (this stuff smells soooo good but DO NOT lick the spoon it doesn't taste as good)

Brown turkey.  Combine turkey and  all remaining ingredients in a 5 or 6 quart slow cooker.  Stir well.  Cover and cook until flavors are blended and chili is slightly thickened, 4-5 hours on high, 8-10 hours on low.

Top finished chili with sour cream, grated cheese and avocado.
Seriously life changing chili.

Disclaimer:  I can not be held responsible if this chili is not life changing or for the fact that this has been one major craving for this pregnancy.  I do know my children will eat this and so will Daver.
